I need unique BAT mitzvah themes for my daughter.?
I have a daugter who is to become a BAT Mitzvah (not BAR mitzvah) next year, and we try to think of a very unique bat mitzvah themes. She has an advantage because her initials are EZ. Our ideas so far, EZ bake and have a bakery theme or her favorite color is orange. We want more options, so if any of you have some cool ideas for her intials would be great!
I can Like zanderdy idea / comment. I am one who also believes that the "theme" of Bat Mitzvah is supposed to be a Bat Mitzvah to the involved individual. You are actually asking on the theme of the party and celebration after the service, and call me a fuddy dud but I just can not wrap my head around some of the ideas I've seen some of these over top and nothing to do with Jewish values, Bar and Bat Mitzvah parties. Casino Bar or Bat Mitzvah party does not seem to send a message to celebrate the milestone to take over responsibility Mitzvot Why not try to make the party a celebration of something you can relate to in either Parsha, Haftorah or her Mitzvah project. EZ bake idea could be nice if she focuses on feeding the hungry as zanderdy suggests … include in the decorations, perhaps, practical ideas on how your guests can share in their blessings to enjoy good food by feeding others to ask for an item of canned as "admitted" to the party. If you want a costume party ideas, maybe have people dress up as their favorite biblical characters, and if they do not want to dress up, you could still get them to participate by having those who do not dress up as "judges" to to vote for "best overall costume" "best costume to fit today's Torah portion," etc. I have a gazillion ideas, but I think that maybe sits down with her and figure out what things are important about his new status as a Bat Mitzvah can help you find a "theme" that you can celebrate and share with others while you still honor the purpose of the whole festival. Right now I'm in the middle of an intense preparation for my son's upcoming Bar Mitzvah. Fortunately, his idea for the festival is a simple reception with our little church and family and lots of good food and entertainment by talented relatives. His theme for his mitzvah has to do with the ball tashchit and involve both the promotion environmental consciousness and animal welfare. He even found a place in Israel that makes kippahs that resembles leather .. out of recycled paper. His invitations and programs, all using recycled paper, too, and the reception will be vegan. Shalom and good luck

Ruin Jonny’s Bar Mitzvah $9.98 America’s greatest cover band keeps finding new worlds to conquer, and on their fifth album Me First and the Gimme Gimmes present a unique ethnomusicological document — a field recording of our heroes performing at an actual Bar Mitzvah celebration in Malibu, California (or a reasonable facsimile thereof). Ruin Jonny’s Bar Mitzvah features the Gimme Gimmes performing a selection of classic rock standards as only they can (fast, loud, and with a high snot factor) as they roar through “Come Sail Away,” “The Longest Time,” “Take It on the Run” and “Strawberry Fields Forever” for a seemingly puzzled audience of thirteen-year-olds and their parents. Of course, these guys make it their business to have something for everyone, so they also throw in a little bit of country music (“Delta Dawn”), an old Italian favorite (“O Sole Mio”), and not one but two versions of “Hava Nagila”! Pretty much everything is on-board reduced to a blurry haze of power chord hilarity, which is certainly true to form for the Gimme Gimmes, but the one-take live recording (complete with a set break) shows these guys have truly mastered their shtick by this point, and beneath the goofy surface of their style they have a strong grasp of what makes for a good hook and a cool tune, regardless of genre. It’s not the same without the presence of the ice cream bar, but Me First and the Gimme Gimmes’ Ruin Jonny’s Bar Mitzvah is the next best thing to being there (and the enhanced video track allows you to witness the action first hand). So how much do these guys get to play a retirement party? ~ Mark Deming, All Music Guide |
